Abstract

In an effort to optimize instruction, a variety of instructional design models have been implemented at all levels of education. Many details, including audience, objective, subject, time and resources can influence which model will work best in any given situation. Because of this it benefits educators to be well versed on multiple models to benefit their students.

We will examine the Kemp and the Interservice Procedures for Instructional Systems Design model (IPISD) to see what advantages and disadvantages they offer as well as looking at what areas they will be the most effectively used in. We will then compare and contrast these two models with ADDIE in order to distinguish their unique characteristics.

Scope

This project consists of a collaborative research paper in the form of a Wiki webpage and a 15 minute multimedia presentation comparing and contrasting the ADDIE paradigm to two different instructional design models; Kemp, and IPISD.  Two team members will research each paradigm or design model.

ADDIE:  Morgan Tucker and Jose San Miguel

Kemp:  Kristi Kosina and Maria Ing

IPISD:  Jose Escobedo and Ralph Herrera
